Baikaler Eco-Hostel Description

Baikaler Eco-Hostel welcomes you to stay in a cozy wooden house, located in the village Listvyanka. Built from wood, well insulated and energy efficient, the place is carefully imbedded into the environment. The eco-hostel maintains healthy atmosphere and sets new standards for comfort, security and design. We offer a wide range of activities

The house has 4 guest rooms with shared facilities: 3 twins and 1 dorm for 4 people. There are 2 toilets and 1 shower. Fully equipped kitchen is for common use. Each twin room has LCD TV and multimedia players. There is also a common library for guests. An English speaking staff is there to help.

Another solar house has 1 dormitory room for 8 people. There are 3 toilets and 1 solar shower, fully equipped kitchen, common room with large screen + DVDs

There is also a wonderfull Russian Banya (Sauna). It is 400R per person per hour / 700R for 2 people at a time, 1000R for 3 people at a time, 1200R for 4 people at a time. It is not open from December till May!

Great offer for tent owners: you are welcome to set up your tent on our wooden deck and use the hostels facilities. Price: 500R per tent (June - September!)

Baikaler eco-hostel is located almost at the end of the street, near the forest. Don’t be turned off by the fact that it is ‘far’. It is just away from the mass tourism. The distance from the lake Baikal to the hostel is 1200m (25-30 min walk up and 20 min down).

This is not far for Listvyanka standards, it is a kind of place where you will have to walk a lot anyway - does not matter where you stay. There is no view of the lake from the hostel windows (it has magnificent view of the forested hill though)

Getting to Baikaler Eco- Hostel from Irkutsk:

Step 1)
You have to get from Irkutsk to LIstvyanka by public minibus: Public minibuses depart regularly as soon as they get full from the Central Market area (parked between the Shopping Center and Central Market near the tram rails on Timiryazeva street)

Price : 100R per person one way.

Step 2)
When in Listvyanka, get off at the final bus stop near the Hotel Mayak. Walk 5-7 min backwards along the lake. Turn right by the white obelisk and post office and walk up to this street for 20-25 min, Whole walking, you will pass the Art Gallery (on your left) and children's camp (on your right).

Occasionally, the road splits. Please take near take the left one (you will see the transformation) and walk for 30-50 meter further. The Eco-Hostel has yellow wooden fence,  you will be able to see 2 wooden houses with dark green roofs. Please use the intercom and knock the metal bear. Please expect some time for the manager to come out.
